Heather Casey, MS, RD, LDN
Heather has a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and a Master’s Degree in Nutrition. Over the last 8 years, Heather has worked at Appalachian Regional Healthcare System as a Clinical Dietitian. Heather is also the Director of the Adolescent Fitness Program (Ad-Fit) and teaches Nutrition Counseling and Nutrition Assessment classes at Appalachian State University.
When Heather isn’t working, she enjoys being active through hiking and running, and enjoys participating in and watching sports. Her desire as a Registered Dietitian is to help teach, encourage and motivate each individual on his or her journey towards wellness.
Hannah Snyder, MS, CPT
Hannah is a graduate of the Exercise Science Master’s Program at Appalachian State University. She specialized in strength and conditioning, and conducted her thesis reserach in pulmonary function. During her undergraduate career at Towson University, Hannah swam all 4 years as a Division 1 swimmer, finishing her career at the Olympic Trials in 2016. Hannah is certified by the American College of Exercise as a Personal Trainer, and is the exercise specialist for the THRIVE Health Management Program at the Wellness Center.
In her free time, Hannah enjoys CrossFit workouts, hiking, being involved in college ministry, and spending time with friends.
Horton Doughton, MS, CSCS
Horton has a passion for exercise and loves to help people grow stronger. He became a Personal Trainer as well as an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist in 2013. Here’s what Horton has to say: “Being a Personal Trainer provides a unique opportunity to help someone, and that is by far the reason I like it so much. To help someone work toward a goal in realistic and reasonable steps is very rewarding, and helping someone reach their goal is even more so. While exercise and goal setting is a huge part of training, personal training would not be personal training without a personal touch, and I love being able to get to know new people and encourage them.”
In his free time Horton enjoys hiking, writing, playing tabletop games, and translating Japanese media.
